Learning Objectives
The following are the learning objectives for this course:
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of abortion methods, including risks and benefits, which are legally available in the U.S.
- Describe the various elements of abortion care including pain management, procedural basics, after-care and follow up.
- Describe the role of the registered nurse, nurse practitioner, and nurse midwife in abortion care.
- Understand the importance of being familiar with abortion care even when not working directly to provide abortions or in reproductive health.
